Certain inhalants, while sometimes used recreationally, operate through distinct mechanisms compared to substances like gasoline or acetone. Unlike those neurotoxic agents, which produce a "high" by damaging brain cells, the inhalants featured here function through specific physiological or pharmacological effects, making their use—and sometimes misuse—fundamentally different.
