Drug Identification Strips

Drug identification strips are harm reduction tools that allow users to test for specific substances or contaminants in drugs. While originally designed to identify the presence of illegal street drugs by law enforcement, these strips have evolved to address modern crises, including fentanyl contamination and the rise of even more potent synthetic opioids like nitazenes. The video chosen in this section was done in a manner that helps raise awareness for the rise in prevalence of nitazenes, not just in the USA, but globally.

Almost everyone is already aware of fentanyl in the USA, while most overseas are not. But, nitazenes are on the increase, not just overseas, but also at home while their dangers are being overshadowed by the fentanyl crisis that is currently ongoing in the US. The response measures for the nitazene class of drugs is much the same as it has been for fentanyl with some slight changes in protocols such as drug class specific drug identification strips for example. So, if we can nip this one in the bud (which we failed to do with fentanyl,) then hundreds of thousands of people's lives could potentially be saved.

If you are in search of test strips but are uncertain where to turn, please consider exploring the following resources. While not all of them currently offer nitazene test strips, expressing demand to organizations that have yet to stock them could encourage necessary changes. This is an evolving threat with global implications, and the development of these test strips is still in its early stages. As was the case with fentanyl test strips when they were first introduced, some limitations may exist. Therefore, lab testing remains the most reliable option, when feasible. However, as a first line of defense, these test strips have proven to be quite accurate in detecting most nitazenes available today.
